The year 1947 can be denoted by a plethora of three letter acronyms: NHC, DSS, UFO, CIA. These acronyms stand, of course, for the Nag Hammadi Codices, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Unidentified Flying Objects, and the Central Intelligence Agency.
1947 was the year in which the Gnostic Nag Hammadi Library underwent its first serious examination by Jean Doresse, in Cairo, having been discovered two years previously in a cave. The Gnostic codices promulgated a radically new cosmology in which humanity was held captive in a counterfeit universe, created by a predatory, inorganic Alien species. The Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered near the shore of the Dead Sea, were found to be replete with descriptions of celestial beings, whose craft were described in exactly the same manner as contactees describe the behaviour and flight characteristics of modern day UFOs. 1947 was also the year in which the first major UFO flap broke out. The pilot Kenneth Arnold, who coined the term “Flying Saucers”, observed a fleet of UFOs above the Cascade mountains in Washington State, on the 24th June. Just over a week later, rancher Mac Brazel discovered the remains of an unidentified flying craft on his ranch in the New Mexico desert. The wreckage was retrieved by the USAF Eighth Air Force and transferred to Fort Worth, Texas. Many people will know this as the Roswell Incident.
Two months later, in September of 1947, the Truman administration implemented the National Security Act, which oversaw a major reorganization of the US Defence and Intelligence apparatus, creating the National Security Council, the CIA, and also the position of the Secretary of Defence, a position filled originally by James Forestal . In response to the Roswell Incident, the Truman administration allegedly established Majestic 12. Forestal was apparently a member of Majestic 12, along with Roscoe H. Hillenkoetter, the first head of the CIA, General Nathan Twinning, and Robert Oppenheimer, amongst many others. Forrestal was committed to the Bethesda Naval Medical Centre in 1949, where he was later found dead, having apparently jumped from the 16th floor. Or so the official story goes.
Just a strange set of coincides? Or was there a hundredth monkey syndrome taking place on the periphery of human consciousness and perception in 1947??
